Susan has worked as a teaching artist with high school student actors since 1999. Her work as a director with these young artists includes a stage adaptation of the cult film Harold & Maude, an original theatrical adaptation of James Hurst's short story The Scarlet Ibis, an evening of short works by Suzan Lori-Parks, John Patrick Shanley, and Christopher Durang entitled Shorties, the surrealistic one-act Defying Gravity, and Senior Stories: A Charm for You, a multi-generational collaboration between public high school students and the nursing home residents whose stories they brought to life.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and a Masters in Teaching from Saint Peter's University. She was on the faculty of the Theatre Department at the Jersey City Arts High School Program, an intitiative of the Jersey City Public Schools, and currently serves as a consultant and coach to various schools, organizations, and individual students and performers.
